Although you may like to have all of your projects and papers surrounding
you like a protective blanket, it doesn’t mean your desk
has to look like a tornado went through it. There are
some wonderful solutions that will help cut back on the
primordial paper ooze that is creeping off of your desk
and onto the floor.
Pendaflex has a wonderful new product that I have dubbed
the Pile File, but they professionally call it the
PileSmart QuickView Jacket. You can safely store all of
the papers you are working on for a specific project or
client inside the Pile File and still stack it on your
desk. It eliminates the eye sore, but still keeps it in
sight.

Logical
This is where it all makes sense! Having your
office neatly cleaned is a job for your housekeeper,
having your files and supplies logically placed where
you need them most is up to you and your organizer. If
you pay your bills in the kitchen, why would you have
them in your office? If you send out packages on a
routine basis, why would you have your scale in the
garage and the packing materials in the hall closet? If
you hate to file, why do it?
One of my favorite organizing tools is the
classification folder. The logic behind the system is
impeccable. The folder allows you to store the papers
categorically and keeps them tidy and they don’t fall
out. The best part about the classification folder is
you don’t have to file. As soon as you receive a page
that needs to be included in the classification folder
you simply punch and place. No filing required.

Inspirational
Beauty combined with functionality, oh doesn’t that
sound good? Just because you work at home doesn’t
mean your office needs to look like it. Why bother
using the traditional plastic paperclip dish when
you can use a beautiful dish or votive? For that
matter, why bother using traditional paperclips?
Levenger has a great paper clip called the Sloopie
and I use a pretty candle votive to house them in.
The two combined work out beautifully and it’s
functional as well!
